As of December 7, 2020:
The current Provincial Health Officer order extends the suspension of indoor adult team sports until at least January 8, 2021.
Curl BC has since specified: "The temporary measures include a pause on all adult team sports including curling. However, this pause on team sports does NOT have an expiration date of Jan. 8. We do not yet know when the restrictions will be lifted.... A sport specific order is being produced. We do not know the details within it or when it will be published."
The Oliver Curling Club is still getting ready for the winter session in the hopes that curling can restart on January 11. Registration for the winter session is now open: you can find all the info and forms in our Registration section. Please register by January 4 so we can get an idea of numbers and put together teams. No payment is due until your first game.
We will keep providing updates as we get a better idea of exactly when and how curling will happen in the new year.
Meanwhile, wishing you all joyful, peaceful holidays and
a happy, healthy new year!
As of December 3, 2020:
The Oliver Curling Club is suspending all league play after the latest Provincial Health Officer update (December 2) prohibited "all indoor adult team sport."
Today Curl BC also confirmed that "curling has been indefinitely suspended effectively IMMEDIATELY, as we all work together to limit and reduce our social interactions to bend the COVID curve."
You can read Curl BC's updated statement here.
We will keep you informed as we hear more -- and as soon as we know when curling can start again.
Thanks to everyone for your understanding.
