The club has been bursting with energy this fall as Grade 5, 6 and 7 students have been coming to "curling school." Cathy PIdduck continues to lead our mission to teach every student in Oliver and Okanagan Falls in these grades how to curl! With the invaluable and steadfast support of our club volunteers (thank you!), each class has three on-ice sessions to learn and practice basic curling skills and play a short game. So far we've had classes from Oliver Elementary School, Okanagan Falls Elementary School and, as this story in the Oliver Chronicle captures, Tuc-el-Nuit Elementary School: Students learning to throw rocks in good way.
These sessions are loads of fun for students, teachers and volunteers. Another school will be coming in February so please sign up on the volunteer board to help if you can.
